Journalist Lester Holt is married to Carol Hegan since 1982 after dating for almost two years. The pair has been together for more than 40 years and their relationship seems to get stronger with every time that passes by.

The lovebirds met in 1980 while Hegan was working as a flight attendant and Holt was studying at California State University. The details regarding their initial love story are not so clear but during an interview, Carol mentioned that her long-time hubby once asked her to come with him while covering a forest fire story in Napa Valley. In her words,

“I thought, ‘Wow, I’ve never been invited to go on a breaking news story before. A forest fire—that could be considered a hot date! I guess I knew what I was getting myself into with Lester and his career.”

The rest is history and the couple has been living happily in their beautiful house in Manhattan.

Lester Holt And His Wife Have Two Sons: Who Are They?

The couple are proud parents of two sons. They became parents for the first time with the birth of their first son Stefan Holt five years into their marriage in 1987. He is 36 years old as of 2023 and has been following in the footsteps of his father. Stefan is a journalist and news anchor for WMAQ-TV a Chicago station owned by NBC.

Likewise, they became parents to their second son Cameron Holt a couple of years later. He is currently working as an Executive Director for Morgan Stanley. Both of their sons have achieved great success in their careers and the family of four seems to love each and everyone dearly.
